On 24th July 2010, a group of artists asked the people of the world to send them footage of whatever they were doing that day. Thousands responded and the footage was compiled into a film. Here it is. This is amazing - my favourite sort of art - just looking at the real personalities of the people in the world and looking into their real lives.

Why can't I wear what I want to wear!
Why is it not ok for me to wear plain jeans, the warmest jumper I can find and a pair of sports trainers everyday? This is what I find most comfortable and practical. But I walk around the streets of Bristol and I see everyone else wearing very trendy, coordinated outfits with all kinds of accessories and I feel 'Oh I should really be making an effort with this!' but I then feel that just putting all the thought and time into it is such a waste of my time, and I would probably be cold and uncomfortable!!! I think if women want to wear really revealing clothes, good on them, if that's what they feel comfortable in and makes them feel good about themselves, right on! That's great! I don't like it when that gets criticised, but equally I don't like it when I get criticised for wearing practical conventional plain comfortable clothes. The men do that everyday, why can't I!!!!!

Should We Bulldoze Into The Green-Belt?
(My thoughts after reading an article on the Guardian Website)
Should we bulldoze into the greenbelt? The greenbelt is the rural area that surrounds cities that is protected so that building can not take place on it. It is the suburban area. It is where the middle classes live where they can have access to the city and are also situated in amongst open fields and un built on countryside. The middle classes pay for this privilege and would not want to see this land built on. But at what expense is this to the poor?
5 million people in britain are waiting for suitable housing. Not building on this land means families are homeless or squeezed into inappropriate housing. It also means that people in cities are losing their gardens so houses can be built on them. On top of this, it means that schools are losing their playing fields so houses can be built on them. Green groups are allegedly promoting the idea that 2/3s of britain is concrete. Apparently though only 1/10th of britain is in urban development.
What do you think? Do the middle classes deserve their suburban heaven? Do you support the green groups? Or should we bulldoze into the greenbelt?

Visit to Hyde Park
My favourite of the Anish Kapoor sculptures currently erected in Hyde Park. It looks quite like a sculpture that the crew of the Star Trek Enterprise might see outside the headquarters of the United Federation of Planets on 24th century Earth.
